What happens when a P2P order times out
If the buyer does not pay before the timer expires, the order cancels and the escrowed USDT returns to the seller. If the buyer has paid but the seller has not released, raise a dispute before expiry rather than letting it lapse.
The timer is not pressure applied to you. It is the mechanism that stops an unresponsive counterparty locking someone's funds indefinitely.
What expiry does
| Situation at expiry | Outcome |
|---|---|
| Buyer never paid | Order cancels; escrowed USDT returns to the seller |
| Buyer paid, seller has not released | Do not let it expire — raise a dispute |
| Buyer paid late, near expiry | Raise a dispute so the payment is on record |
Why letting it run is often right
Every urgency-based scam needs you to act before the timer would have protected you. If a counterparty's story only works when you hurry, the timer is doing exactly what it was built for.
Escrow plus a timer means an unresponsive counterparty cannot hold your funds.

What happens if I do not pay a P2P order in time?
The order cancels and the crypto returns to the seller from escrow. Repeated cancellations affect your standing on the platform.
I paid but the order expired. What now?
Raise a dispute immediately and attach the bank statement line and UTR. Do not open a new order for the same payment.
